On 12th November 2025 The Cross-Party Group on Ukraine organised
The Light We Share
- a landmark event at the Scottish Parliament celebrating the strength, creativity, and spirit of the Ukrainian people.
The event showcased the creativity of Ukraine’s people and their contribution to Scottish life.
Having sought refuge from war, Ukrainians are now shaping and enriching Scotland’s cultural life—on great stages and in major galleries, from the Edinburgh Fringe to the Tattoo—their voices resonating at the very heart of Scotland’s story.
This first-of-its-kind gathering weaved together exhibitions, testimonies, music, and light—symbols of resilience, unity, and hope.
We offer our heartfelt thanks to all participants and attendees for making the event such a success and keeping the Ukrainian cause in the forefront of the minds of MSPs.

Running alongside this event, we also held a private three-day exhibition for MSPs outside the chamber with a selection of objects from The Weight We Carried.
