Запрошуємо вас взяти участь у колективній виставці "Речі, які вони несли", що відбудеться на початку 2025 року.
Війна в Україні спричинила найбільшу кризу переміщення населення з часів Другої світової війни. За оцінками, у світі налічується близько 6,74 мільйона українських біженців, включно з тими, хто був вимушений переселитися в межах України.
Ця виставка досліджує зв’язок між людьми і речами, крізь призму війни, вимушеного переселення та сили духу.
ІНФОРМАЦІЯ ДЛЯ УЧАСТІ
"Використовуючи форму нижче, запрошуємо вас поділитися особистим досвідом переселення через вторгнення в Україну, зосередивши увагу на одному чи декількох предметах, які ви взяли з собою. Можете розповісти стільки, скільки вважаєте важливим. Кожен досвід, емоція та складний вибір значущі, і ми хочемо дати вам можливість висловитися та розказати свою історію на загал. Ці історії разом створять полотно, яке відображає стійкість та людяність українців, які пройшли через важкі випробування війни.
Просимо додати фото предмета, який пов'язаний із вашою історією. Це допоможе нам визначитися, які об’єкти включити у фізичну виставку, що відбудеться в лютому в Единбурзі. Ми з радістю приймемо будь-які предмети, які мають для вас особисте значення.
Ми зв’яжемося з вами електронною поштою, якщо вашу історію буде обрано, щоб домовитися про передачу предметів для фотографування. Після цього всі речі будуть повернуті, якщо ви не захочете, щоб ми зберегли їх до самої виставки.
У середині січня ми знову вийдемо на зв'язок, щоб організувати передачу предметів для встановлення виставки.
Учасників, чиї історії буде відібрано, ми попросимо додати короткий опис (250-300 слів), щоб краще розкрити значення їхніх предметів.

Open Call: The Things They Carried
We are now inviting submissions for our upcoming group show The Things They Carried in early 2025.
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has caused the largest population displacement crisis since World War II. The estimated number of Ukrainian refugees worldwide is 6.74 million, including internal displacement within Ukraine.
Revealing the deep stories of Ukrainians who were forced to relocate to Scotland, this collection shows the significance of the family heirlooms dear to their hearts and, at first glance, the ordinary things they took with them when fleeing the war.
Through these personal moments, the exhibition will explore the connection between people and their belongings, memory, and an enduring connection to home. We invite you to feel the spirit of a community that has carried its heritage through all trials.
SUBMISSION INFORMATION
Using the form below, we invite you to share your personal experience of displacement due to the invasion of Ukraine, focusing on one or several items you brought with you while fleeing the war.
You can be as detailed as you want. Every experience, emotion and hard decision is valid, and we offer you the opportunity to express your voice and tell your story in a public forum. Together these stories weave into a tapestry that shows the resilience and humanity of Ukrainians affected by the ongoing war.
We require a supplementary image of your item to help us decide what we will include in the physical exhibition to be held in Edinburgh in February.
We welcome a broad range of objects, as long as they have an important story to tell that is personal to you.
We will be in touch via email with successful applicants, and make arrangements to collect the objects for photography. All items will be returned after they have been photographed, unless you would like us to store them safely until the exhibition.
In mid-January we will be getting in touch with you again to collect your items for exhibition installation. They will be exhibited for the month of February and then returned to you in early March.
For successful applicants, we’d welcome a 200 word caption to help bring context to their items.
