Brighten up the dark December days and explore the colourful artwork of one of Ukraine’s most beloved national treasures of culture and art.
Maria Prymachenko was a Ukrainian folk art painter, who worked in the naïve art style. A self-taught artist, she worked in painting, embroidery and ceramics. In 1966, Prymachenko was awarded the Taras Shevchenko National Prize of Ukraine.
The richness and originality of her work transports us into the magical world of Ukrainian tradition and folklore. Her unique brightly-coloured paintings exude an aura of kindness, warmth and mystery, captivating audiences of all ages.
This exhibition of 20 facsimile works will be displayed for the duration of December at the Art & Design Library.
